Finding the right leotard can be a challenge.
Particularly because the ones manufactured by well-known brands like GK Elite can
be oftentimes pricey, and taken that many gymnasts workout 4-5 times a week (ah all
that sweat!), and some don’t wear underpants, to avoid intensive laundry days
you have no choice but to keep those leos coming.
While others shop for everyday outfits, a gymnast’s closet
in vast majority is filled with sport clothes and, well, leotards. When one
spends so many hours at the gym, a need to express with a unique style is
tremendous. The leotard becomes a gymnast’s way to stand out, fashionize, and
accessorize all at the same time.
I did my research, and found out that you CAN
save on popular brands leotards.
Here are some of the deals you can get:
1.
www.snowflakedesigns.com
knows their business. When ordering from
them, you can rest
assure that the leotard will be of high quality, and returns will be made easy. They almost always have promotions for select leotards (e.g. 20% off select animal print leotards sale goes on throughout current week). Their monthly newsletter always includes a discount code for their website, thus all you have to do is subscribe and wait for it. Within their almost 20-year-old history, they've proved to be a reliable manufacturer producing in their Californian facility.

2.
www.destira.com
This family-owned California-based gymnastics
apparel company has been around for about 12 years, and continually comes up
with gorgeous leotards. I specifically like their designs with cross-back
closure. (see picture***) Sign up for sales and promotions at the top of the
website or visit regularly – they always have some leos on sale, e.g. 30% OFF
Mermaids styles have been going on for a few days now. I’ve noticed that discounting brand-new models
is often their strategy. Once those leos get positive reviews, their prices go
up. To spice it up, Destira crew offers a mystery leotard for a flat fee of
$19. It’s a pig in a poke type of deal, yet the customer reviews of this offer are
beyond convincing – people obviously love what they get.
3.
Believe it or not, but they do have sales at www.gkelite.com, you just have to check regularly. There are
also finds of $35 per leotard, you just need to sort them by price: Low to High
(nothing new here, duh!). Also, GKids line for younger gymnasts offers sizes
TD-CL at under $30. Their Under Armour collection is overpriced to my opinion, with
the minimum of $49.99 per model, and most look quite plain to my taste.
4.
$12 Tuesdays at Aerials by Alpha Factor. Yes,
this deal triggers automatically every Tuesday at www.aerialsbyalphafactor.com . Not
the fanciest of designs, but it does save you money on an everyday leotard.
***A tip about eBay: before ordering popular
brand leotards from Ebay, check out the same model on the manufacturer’s
website, and then also do your research elsewhere. Oftentimes the leotards are
on sale everywhere but eBay. Here’s a real-life example of what I have noticed about the LOVELY leotard by Snowflake Designs we ordered last week. We bought it
from their authorized website for
$29.50, whereas the Snowflake designs official eBay store is still listing it
at full price of $37.00 as of today.
These are some of the deals I was able to spot. Hope this
helps. I’m sure some of you have discovered even more outstanding offers while
hunting for a leo. Do share below in the comments!
And thank you for reading.
